First World War Souvenir Badge Belt containing Imperial German tunic buttons and British / Canadian / New Zealand badges & insignia. The belt appears to be a repurposed Pattern 1914 leather equipment shoulder brace / strap. A quite interesting piece with verdigris on the brass/copper metal badging. The leather is not dry and in excellent condition. It does appear a couple buttons have been removed or fallen off.
This belt came from the Blezard Estate in the Niagara Region. Harold William Blezard #3310335 who served with the 54th Battalion CEF in France. Harold was born in Peterborough, ON and resided in Hamilton, ON when he was drafted for military service.
