"We photograph and depict sterling items in their natural state,
as they would appear in your home".
We are thinning our extensive personal collection of unusual and often rare sterling silver tastevins.
During the past 40 years, we have collected only the finest.
From our personal collection we are pleased to offer for sale a very rare and unusual Hanau sterling
silver wine taster, tastevin, bearing the French import mark of 1893.
The composition of the sterling leads us to surmise that the tastevin was made much earlier,
likely circa 1850's. The tastevin bears pseudo Hanau marks along with the French import mark
denoting that it is .800 sterling silver.
The tastevin has a highly defined and rather unique snake handle that has great visual appeal. The diameter
of the cup is approximately 3.0". The weight is 62 grams.
Hanau tastevins are extremely rare. A Hanau tastevin with French credentials is even more rare. During 40 years
of collecting, we have not encountered another. This unusual and rare Hanau / French tastevin would further
enhance the finest of collections. It is a great conversation piece. It would surely impress connoisseurs, family
and guests.

"We consider all reasonable offers".
We do not clean silver prior to auction or shipment.
The choice to clean, or not, remains with the buyer.
We Ship Worldwide (with a few exceptions)
The cost of shipping from Canada is greater than the cost of domestic shipping within the United States.
The reasons are obvious. We do not charge extra for shipping and handling. We charge the actual shipping cost
plus the cost of insurance for items exceeding $100.00 in value. Please keep this in mind when posting feedback.
Shipping, with insurance, to the Continental United States and within Canada is $15.00.
Please inquire about the shipping cost elsewhere, before bidding.
We now ship to Japan and to China.
The buyer is responsible for any additional costs due to import duties, taxes and the like.
We combine shipments when possible.
Payment is due within 48hrs of auction close. The "buy it now" option and the "best offer" option
require an instant payment.
Please respect these conditions of sale.
