This is an antique, exceptional quality, Victorian period c1880, dessert serving set consisting of a cake knife and a berry/fruit/clotted cream etc serving spoon. These are in a pretty design and with fancy etching on both the cake knife blade and the spoon bowl. It is marked with the silversmith's name of 'L & W S (George Shadford Lee and Henry Wigfull silversmiths worked in Sheffield England from 1879 to 1899). NOTE: Queen Victoria's crest on the interior satin of the box indicates that these silversmiths were purveyors to Queen Victoria's  royal household. Both pieces are also marked with the Victorian registration number RD225792. This shows that this was a pattern registered with the silversmiths company.The two special occasion serving pieces are in perfect condition and look unused. The box has had some repair but is clean and in reasonable condition for its age. See photos. The cake knife is 12" long; the spoon is 9 1/4" long. Perfect for a wedding serving set and to become a family heirloom. All special items are triple wrapped, securely boxed, tracked and insured for delivery to you.
